Waslane gives Android users on a Mac or iPad the features Apple reserves for the iPhone: mirror and control the phone screen, drag files in both directions, read and reply to SMS, mirror notifications from any app with inline reply, share the clipboard, and browse photos and contacts. Everything runs over the local Wi-Fi with TLS 1.3 and mutual authentication. There is no server, no account and no telemetry. The Mac and iPad app is sold in the App Store with a 7-day trial; the Android companion is free.

Waslane is a native Mac and iPad app that turns an Android phone into a full partner of the computer. It mirrors the phone screen with keyboard, mouse or touch control, transfers files in both directions by drag and drop, shows SMS conversations with full history and lets you reply, mirrors notifications from every app with inline reply, shares the clipboard, and gives access to photos, contacts and battery status. The phone side is a free companion app on Google Play.
Unlike cloud services such as AirDroid or Microsoft's Windows-only Phone Link, Waslane never leaves the local network. Devices find each other via Bonjour, pair with a QR code and talk over TLS 1.3 with mutual certificate authentication, so a device that is not paired cannot even complete the handshake. There is no server, no account and no telemetry. Waslane is built by Ziad Abboud, a solo developer in Germany, and was released in the Mac App Store and on Google Play in September 2026. It requires macOS 14 or iPadOS 17 and Android 10 or later.
Why it exists
Waslane started as a fix for a personal annoyance. KDE Connect, the open-source bridge
between phone and computer, only ships as a nightly build for macOS. It crashed on Apple
Silicon, and every macOS update meant reinstalling or waiting for a new nightly. The
alternatives were cloud services with accounts and servers in between, or command-line
tools like scrcpy.
Two more facts shaped the product. Google discontinued Android File Transfer in 2024, yet
thousands of Mac users still search for it every month and find only broken downloads.
And Apple keeps its continuity features, from iPhone Mirroring to SMS in Messages, for the
iPhone. An Android phone shows up nowhere in macOS.
Waslane fills that gap with a native app from the App Store, a free Android app on the
other end, and nothing but your Wi-Fi in between. Pricing follows the same logic: a yearly
plan exists because Android manufacturer quirks and macOS updates are ongoing work, a
lifetime purchase exists because the developer dislikes being forced into subscriptions himself.

What Waslane does not do: phone calls from the computer, and it does not
work across the internet. Both are by design; the product promise is "nothing leaves your
Wi-Fi".
Logo and icon
Please use the icon as is, without recoloring or adding effects. The brand color is
#3B8EFF. The product name is written "Waslane", one word, capital W.
Demo video
A two to three minute walkthrough in English (pairing, mirroring, files, SMS, notifications)
will be published here in the week of September 15. Until then, the developer is happy to do
a live demo over a video call.

Promo codes for the Mac and iPad app are available to journalists and reviewers on request,
no strings attached. The Android app is free. If you want to test on a specific Android
brand or macOS version, say so, the developer will tell you honestly what to expect.
