Privacy Policy

1. Controller
The party responsible for any data processing related to the Waslane app is the person named in the legal notice. Contact: support@waslane.app
2. Principle: local, with no data collection
Waslane connects your devices (Android phone, Mac, iPad) directly over your local Wi-Fi. There is no server of ours, no account, no tracking, no analytics tools, and no advertising. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
3. What content is processed, and where
The content you use across your devices (mirrored screen, transferred files, SMS and notifications, clipboard, photos, contacts, battery level) is transmitted only directly between your own paired devices over your local network. The transfer is end-to-end encrypted with TLS 1.3. This content never reaches us and is not stored or viewed by us.
4. Device permissions
Waslane requests permissions only when they are needed for a specific feature you have enabled, and uses them strictly on the device:
- Local network / Wi-Fi: to find and connect your devices on the same network.
- Notification access: to show and reply to notifications on your computer.
- SMS: only so you can read and reply to your own messages on the paired computer.
- Contacts / photos / files: only to display or transfer the content you choose.
None of this data is transmitted to us or to any third party.
5. Download and purchase via the app stores
The app is obtained through the Apple App Store or Google Play. When downloading and purchasing, Apple and Google process data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control:
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
From the stores we receive at most aggregated sales and usage statistics that cannot be traced back to you.
6. Website waslane.app: hosting and audience measurement
Hosting. This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (San Francisco, USA). When you visit, Netlify processes the technically necessary connection data (IP address, time, page requested, browser identifier) in server logs to deliver the page and keep the service secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers to the USA are based on the EU standard contractual clauses in our data processing agreement with Netlify.
Audience measurement with Umami. To understand which pages are visited and where visitors come from, we use the analytics service Umami (Umami Software, Inc.). Measurement data is processed in the provider's EU data region under Umami's data processing agreement. Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records page views, the referring page, browser and device type, screen size, country of origin and clicks on the links to the app stores. Your IP address is used only transiently to group a visit, truncated, and not stored. No profile of you is created and nothing is shared for advertising. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in audience measurement without identifying individuals (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); no consent under the German TDDDG is required because nothing is stored on or read from your device. Umami honors the browser's "Do Not Track" setting: if it is enabled, your visit is not counted. You can also object to the measurement at any time by emailing support@waslane.app.
The app itself still contains no analytics (see section 2). This measurement concerns the website only.
7. Sharing with third parties
No personal data is shared with third parties, because we do not collect any.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection. Since we do not store any personal data about you, we generally hold no data to which these rights could apply. If you have questions, reach us at support@waslane.app.
9. Changes
We update this policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
